The Busby Babes and Munich 1958: How United Remembers
The story of the Munich air disaster, the people United lost and the ways supporters keep their memory alive.
Simon Wright has supported Manchester United since birth and has written sports content for more than ten years. He founded MUFCLUB and writes its articles.
Simon Wright has supported Manchester United all his life. He did not choose the club as an adult or arrive with a famous season; United was simply there from the beginning, and it has stayed with him ever since. That is the starting point for everything on MUFCLUB: the site is written by a supporter, for supporters, about the club he has followed from birth.
Alongside that lifelong support, Simon has worked as a sports content writer for more than ten years. Writing about sport for a living teaches a few habits that matter on a fan site too: get the names, dates and scores right, say where a fact comes from, keep the story moving and remember that readers already know a great deal about their own club. Those habits shape how every MUFCLUB article is written.
MUFCLUB is the website Simon created for Manchester United, and he is both its author and its content writer. It brings together the things supporters keep coming back to: how the club began and the moments that shaped it, what to expect on a first trip to Old Trafford, the traditions of the Stretford End and the terraces, the ways to follow United from home, and a games corner for fantasy football and football video games.
Each article starts with the question a supporter actually has, whether that is how to get to the ground on a matchday or how the club remembers the Busby Babes. Facts are checked against the club's own records and other reliable sources before they are published, and nothing is made up to fill a gap: no invented quotes, no transfer rumours presented as news and no statistics without a source.
MUFCLUB is an independent fan site. It is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by Manchester United Football Club, and nothing on it speaks for the club. It does not cover betting, odds or tips.
If something in an article is wrong or unclear, write to the address on the contact page with the page and the sentence, and Simon will look at it.
