About MUFCLUB
What MUFCLUB is
MUFCLUB is an independent fan magazine about Manchester United, written for supporters in the UK and anyone who follows the club from further away. It covers the club's history, going to Old Trafford, the traditions of the people who fill its stands, the ways to follow United from home and a games corner for the football video games and fantasy football that many supporters play between matches.
The site is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by Manchester United Football Club. It uses no club crest and no official imagery, and nothing written here speaks for the club or its players. When an article reports something the club has announced, it says so and describes it in its own words.
Who writes it
Every article is written by Simon Wright, who founded the site. Simon has supported Manchester United since birth and has worked as a sports content writer for more than ten years. MUFCLUB is where those two things meet: a supporter's knowledge of the club and a writer's habit of checking names, dates and facts before anything is published. His author page says more about how he works.
What you will find here
The magazine is arranged in five sections. Club History tells the story of the club from its beginnings as Newton Heath to the present, including the Busby Babes and the Munich air disaster. Old Trafford & Matchday is the practical part: getting to the ground, what happens on a matchday, and the stadium tour and museum. Fan Culture looks at the Stretford End and the flags, banners, scarves and songs that make the atmosphere. Following United explains how to watch and listen to matches in the UK and how to keep up with the club's own media. Games & Fantasy Football is the games corner, about fantasy football and football video games, played for fun.
How the articles are written
Each piece starts with a question a supporter might ask and answers it plainly. Facts come from the club's own records and other reliable sources, and articles are updated when something changes, such as matchday arrangements or the plans for the stadium. MUFCLUB does not publish transfer rumours as news, does not invent quotes and does not guess at statistics. It does not cover betting, odds or tips.
Pictures
The pictures on MUFCLUB are original illustrations made for the site. They show places and objects, such as scarves, turnstiles and empty seats, and never real people, players, crests or club logos.
